London based producer, sound artist and composer, Paul Cousins releases new single "Broken Patches of Sky" ahead of his debut album, "Vanishing Artefacts" which is released on CiS on 14th April.

Paul works with meticulously maintained reel to reel tape machines to transform and alter his electronic compositions and his prepared tape loops form the basis of "Broken Patches of Sky" and "Vanishing Artefacts".

Paul's practice is to process his original compositional ideas through 1/4” tape such that they become a hazy facsimile of their former state as tape is manipulated and effected to mould something new.

Staggeringly fragile and beautiful but delivering a unique emotional heft that is all too frequently absent in this field, Paul's work is special indeed. "Broken Patches of Sky" represents the depth and range of "Vanishing Artefacts" and unique to this lead single, Dean Honer has broken out a dusty rhythm box and his vocoder to take the track down a wonderfully unexpected route in his Broken Skies remix.

A super-limited 7" of "Broken Patches Of Sky" will be available only at the "Vanishing Artefacts" album launch show at Iklectik, London on May 9th, 2023:
